Taiwanese actress Joe Chen recently accompanied her husband, Malaysian artist Alan Chen, to his home country for Chinese New Year.

On Feb 8, Joe shared on Instagram a series of photos and videos capturing the joyful occasion.

Among them was a snapshot of the couple happily posing with two lion dancers, a clip of Joe playing with two dogs, and many more.

“I spent CNY with a very swollen face because I underwent radio frequency ablation (RFA) treatment a month ago,” the 45-year-old wrote.

Joe, known for her performance in the 2008 drama Fated To Love You, added that she plans on spending her next CNY in Taiwan.

“I think I’ll just stay in Taipei and avoid seeing anyone. I enjoy being on my own and can go an entire month without going out or meeting anyone,” she said.

It’s worth noting that this is Joe’s third time ringing in the new year in Malaysia. She marked her first CNY in the country in Johor, her husband's hometown, in 2023.

Joe registered her marriage with Alan, who’s nine years younger, in Taiwan on March 31, 2022.

The couple, who met in 2019 on the dating show Meeting Mr Right, held their wedding reception in Langkawi, Kedah, on Sept 22 last year.
