Taiwanese actress Joanne Tseng has revealed what she has been busy with during the Chinese New Year period.

The 36-year-old, who has been married to Taiwanese singer-actor Calvin Chen since January 2020, disclosed on social media on Feb 2 that she has given birth to their first child.

“My son is here to wish you a happy Chinese New Year,” she wrote in Chinese, sharing a photo of a small hand holding a hongbao with the Chinese character “fu”, which means fortune.

“I have been focusing on taking care of my child during the Chinese New Year, which was a bit tough but made me happy nonetheless.”

Tseng, who did not disclose when her son was born, said she has received many Chinese New Year greetings in the past few days.

“Pardon me for not replying to almost all of them as I have been busy falling in love with my son,” she wrote, using hashtags such as #SweetDaysOfNewParents and #ThankYouForAllTheWellWishesAndHongbaos.

Chen, 44, formerly of Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit, added under Tseng’s post: “As new parents, we will take good care of our cute baby. I can’t wait to take him to the gym or play basketball with him.”
