Hong Kong actor Lawrence Cheng marked a joyful milestone last September when his eldest daughter, Zaneta, married her boyfriend Jacob.

Sharing the special moment on Instagram, Cheng, 70, posted a photo from the couple’s marriage registration while proudly announcing his new role as a father-in-law.

On Tuesday (Jan 7), Zaneta took to social media to share snapshots from her wedding day – including one of her dancing with Jacob and another of her father embracing her tightly.

For her big day, Zaneta defied tradition by donning a white jumpsuit instead of the customary wedding gown.

“So much love in one room. So cosy. So sweet. Thanks so much to everyone who made it happen,” she captioned her Instagram post.

According to Hong Kong news portal Dimsum Daily, Cheng was initially hesitant to see his daughter marry.

However, Zaneta reassured him by saying, “Even if I have a boyfriend in the future, I’ll always hug you.”

Cheng, who tied the knot in 1981, also has a younger daughter named Amanda.

In a past interview, the former TVB star, who has appeared in shows like Man Of Wisdom, Welcome To The House and Fraudstars, shared that his daughters are like his buddies.

“They tell me everything, including their dreams, jobs, friends, colleagues, romances ... Practically everything,” he told Prestige Hong Kong.
