Chinese actress May Chan has wowed netizens with her dramatic transformation in just a year.

According to reports, the 39-year-old embarked on her weight loss journey due to health concerns.

In just a year, the former TVB star, who once weighed 130kg, reached her target weight of 59kg, successfully shedding an impressive 71kg.

The weight loss has not only transformed her physique but also improved her health.

Last March, Chan shared her medical report, revealing she no longer suffers from high blood sugar, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, among other health issues.

The Oh My Grad star recently marked the one-year anniversary of her weight loss journey with two photos on Instagram – one showcasing her waistline and another flaunting her jawline.

“Finally, I can show off my waist! This summer, I should be able to wear the waist-revealing swimsuit I’ve been dreaming of,” she captioned her post.

Although Chan initially believed she was finished with her weight loss journey, she has decided to set a new goal – shedding an additional 13kg.

“Losing another 30 pounds would make it more perfect,” she said.

Despite reaching her target goal, Chan plans on shedding an additional 13kg this year.

In a previous interview with HK01, Chan, who made her showbiz debut in 2013, shared that portion control and meal sequencing are the weight loss tips she swears by.

For each meal, she eats 50% vegetables, up to 40% protein and 15% carbs.

The actress avoids consuming carbs at night, turning to crackers if she feels hungry. She also makes a conscious effort to reduce foods high in sugar and oil.

Many netizens have since praised Chan for her commitment and discipline, with several also reminding her not to push herself too hard.

“Be careful not to lose too much weight,” one fan commented.

Another added: “Please share tips on how you lost weight.”
