Paris Jackson is coming clean about being clean.

The only daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, who is an actress, model and singer, celebrated five years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol in an emotional video post on Instagram Tuesday (Jan 7).

Referring to herself as an “alcoholic and a heroin addict,” she announced “today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol” in her caption.

“To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism,” the 26-year-old Hit Your Knees star added. “Gratitude hardly scratches the surface. It’s because I’m sober that I get to smile today.”

“I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all it’s glory. I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance. I get to trust. I feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm,” she wrote.

Jackson noted that she “found that life keeps happening regardless of whether i’m sober or not, but today I get to show up for it.”

Clips of the American Horror Stories actress in various states accompanied the post in a video she described as “a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my God I can’t believe I almost missed it all.”

Jackson – who caused heads to turn while popping out in sexy, nipple-baring attire during last weekend’s Golden Globe Awards events – has another reason to be joyous; just weeks ago, she announced that she was engaged to Justin Long, her musical collaborator. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
