South Korean actor Yeo Jin-goo is thrilled about his first visit to Malaysia, and one thing topping his to-do list is sampling iconic Malaysian dishes.

“A fan told me that I must eat nasi lemak, so I want to try that,” the 27-year-old shared during an interview in Kuala Lumpur earlier today (Nov 23) through an interpreter.

“I also looked on the Internet for suggestions on what else I should eat and where I should go. Maybe you can recommend something?”

When asked about his tolerance for spicy food, Yeo flashed a confident smile and said in English: “Of course. I am Korean.”

The actor was intrigued when the moderator suggested he try roti tisu, which can be enjoyed with curry or sweet condensed milk.

Turning to his entourage, he playfully reminded them: “Please remember roti tisu too.”

Yeo is in Malaysia for the ONE Astro Fan Fest happening this weekend (Nov 22–24) at Sunway Pyramid Orange Concourse. He is set to appear at 5pm for a meet-and-greet session.

During the event too, 50 lucky fans will get the chance to take a group photo with him.

Expressing his gratitude for Malaysian fans, the Seoul-born star said he has always felt their warmth, especially when they sent him coffee trucks during his shoots.

“I’ve been lucky enough to receive such thoughtful gestures in the past, and I feel deeply grateful for them. To show my appreciation, I often share photos or post updates on my social media.

“Because of this connection and support, I’m genuinely happy to be here today to express my gratitude to my Malaysian fans.”

When asked about future collaborations, Yeo responded positively.

“I love Malaysia and would be more than happy to come back if there’s an opportunity, whether it’s for a movie or another project,” said the actor, who starred in this year’s hit film Hijack 1971.
