Local singer Diorlying Tan has publicly disowned her younger brother Ansenn due to his compulsive gambling addiction and involvement in scamming her fans.

In an Instagram update on Oct 5, Tan shared a photo of Ansenn on his knees in tears and several screenshots revealing his scams targeting her followers.

The 25-year-old said she’s done with her brother’s actions and urged anyone affected by his scams to report him to the police.

Tan detailed Ansenn’s gambling addiction, disclosing that he had been gambling since his teenage years and has already accumulated debts amounting to “hundreds of thousands”.

“We gave you chances and helped pay off your debts, yet you kept abusing our trust without remorse,” she lamented.

Tan also recounted a moment when Ansenn called her, crying and begging for financial help.

At that time, she didn’t have enough money and resorted to gambling herself to help her brother.

“I must have been crazy at that time. I transferred my winnings to him, reached out to a friend in Australia for help, bought him a plane ticket (to leave the country) and arranged a job for him.

“I thought he'd be better off abroad, but it's happened so many times that I’ve lost count,” she said.

The final straw came when Ansenn began scamming not just Tan’s followers, but his own family and girlfriend.

Tan accused her brother of stealing their father’s gold chain to pawn for gambling money and borrowing money from loan sharks, which nearly resulted in their sister being kidnapped.

“He’s truly lost his humanity and shows no remorse. I’m not even sure if he has a conscience.

“Every day, I find myself wondering if someone will cause trouble at my sister’s shop or if the loan sharks will come knocking at my door like they did before.

“I don’t want to worry about potential disruptions during my performances. It’s really exhausting,” she said.

Tan then announced that her entire family has decided to sever ties with Ansenn. She also told him to take care of himself.

Many of Tan’s celebrity friends and fans have since left comments expressing their sympathy while others hoped for Ansenn to turn a new leaf.

“Reaching the point of falling out with your family must be painful. I hope your brother changes,” said local influencer Gladish Chan.

One netizen added: “It’s heartbreaking to see a life ruined for good.”
