Mui Kai Ming, the brother of late Hong Kong singer Anita Mui, recently announced his plans to marry his Thai girlfriend May May.

In an interview with Hong Kong media, Kai Ming revealed that he will host a wedding banquet at a Chinese restaurant.

The 72-year-old also expressed his desire to reconnect with his estranged mother, who has refused to meet him since April last year, and hopes she will attend his wedding.

Regarding his divorce from his Malaysian wife Joey, who’s 16 years his junior, Kai Ming said it has been a few months.

“I divorced a long time ago. She sought legal aid to handle the procedures,” he added.

However, when contacted by Hong Kong media for a comment, Joey claimed that Kai Ming hasn’t divorced her yet.

“He previously wanted a concubine, which I did not agree with. Now he is remarrying, which is bigamy,” she said.

Joey also mentioned that she didn't receive any letters asking for a divorce and that Kai Ming never informed her about seeking legal aid to discuss it.

She also claimed that Kai Ming had promised their son that he wouldn’t get divorced.

According to reports, Joey and their son have returned to live in Malaysia.

She alleged that when she brought their son to meet Kai Ming at a hotel, he tried to leave and later blocked her phone number.

Reports also indicate that Kai Ming provides a monthly allowance of HK$3,000 (RM1,655) for Joey and their son.
