After Lady Gaga debunked the rumours that she’s pregnant, Taylor Swift came to the defense of the former, saying the Bad Romance singer doesn’t owe anyone an explanation regarding her body.

Gaga had used Swift’s Down Bad lyric to say that she’s not pregnant via a TikTok video, where the Love Story singer slammed the detractors and affirmed that it is “irresponsible” for anyone to comment on any woman’s body.

“Can we all agree that it’s invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body? Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation, and neither does any woman,” Swift remarked.

Gaga got caught up recently with pregnancy rumours after she was spotted with an “apparent baby bump” when she attended her sister’s wedding with her boyfriend of four years, Michael Polanski.

In the heat of the speculations, the make-up artist of the Born This Way singer, Sarah Tanno, came to her defense on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Honestly, it’s really sad that she had to address this because people were commenting about her body. People should not be allowed to comment on other people’s bodies.

“Fans have been saying for years that she’s pregnant just because of how she looks in certain outfits. Why spread a rumour about somebody that you care about or love? It does affect people’s mental health; people should not be body-shaming people or assuming they are pregnant when they aren’t!”

Tanno concluded her message: “Even if she was pregnant, it’s none of your business to know at all. Why are people obsessed with her being pregnant or not?? I don’t get it.”

This isn’t the first time that Gaga has belied speculations regarding her body. In 2017, she penned a message to her followers on Instagram after she was criticised about her physique during her Super Bowl halftime performance.

“I heard my body is a topic of conversation, so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body, and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do,” she wrote at the time. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
