Retired Hong Kong actress Anita Lee, who left the entertainment industry in 2003 after marrying Canadian stockbroker Lee Shau Ching, recently brought a group of 40 on a food tour in Malaysia, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Shortly after arriving at the airport on Saturday (July 29), Lee – playing tour guide for five days and four nights – took the group to eat bak kut teh in Kuala Lumpur.

The group headed to Jalan Alor later that night where the 55-year-old introduced her guests to scrumptious street food like grilled chicken wings, coconut ice cream, apam balik, otak-otak and more.

The next day, the former TVB star took her group to Bentong, Pahang to continue their "food hunt".

Although Chinese New Year had already passed, the Hong Kong tour group was able to indulge in our popular tradition of "tossing" yee sang after the restaurant specially prepared the dish.

Other mouth-watering delicacies served include braised chicken with Bentong ginger, patin (silver catfish) and tofu puffs.

To really give the full Malaysian experience, Lee made sure to bring everyone to a durian orchard to try out the famed Musang King durians.

In a livestream on Lee's YouTube channel, the tour group could be seen snapping pictures underneath a durian tree, marvelling over the size of the durians and eating the fruit later on.

"Everyone enjoyed (the durians). We really couldn't stop eating it," Lee said.

Many viewers who tuned to the livestream also commented that the durians looked delicious and they wished they were there too.

Lee's next stop was a popular dim sum restaurant in Ipoh, Perak. She took her travel group there on Monday (July 31) afternoon.

Malaysia has long been a popular destination for Hong Kong stars.

Among the celebrities who have expressed their love for the country include Aaron Kwok, Hugo Ng, Ruco Chan, Philip Keung and Bosco Wong.
