South Korean actor Song Joong-ki recently opened up about his honest feelings regarding the rumours surrounding his British wife Katy Louise Saunders.
In an interview with GQ Korea Thursday (Feb 23), Song voiced his displeasure over the "ridiculous speculations" hounding his wife.
As translated by SBS Star, the 37-year-old said: "At first, I was OK with (the rumours) because things like that are bound to happen to people (celebrities) like us.
"It's not like those rumours were going to change our love and relationship. But honestly speaking, as more ridiculous and baseless words began to spread, I became quite angry."
Saunders has been the target of multiple rumours in the past couple months.
Among the speculations that made buzz on social media include her allegedly being the mother of a 10-year-old child and being engaged to an Italian billionaire named Giovanni Tronchetti Provera in the past.
Song clarified that other than the name of the university his wife graduated from – Bocconi University in Milan, Italy – the other rumours are simply false.
The Vincenzo star added that his wife would be the one to calm him down whenever he fumed over the rumours.
"Katy will tell me that there's no need to be frustrated over these people. She's that kind of person who leads me to a more a positive direction and balances me out.
"To put it simply, she is someone whom I can place my trust in. She lets me know that my perspectives on life are right, which gives me confidence that I'm heading the right direction," he explained.
Disclosing more about his marriage to Saunders, Song revealed that he has always been dreaming of having kids and starting his own family.
"Those are my two biggest goals in life. I'm excited but also nervous in a good way," he explained.
The actor also spilled some details about the things he did the day he registered their marriage.
"It was quite hectic. After the registration, I went to a script reading for my upcoming film, My Name Is Loh Kiwan. I had a late dinner with Katy that day," he said.
Song's relationship status first came to light last December when his agency, HighZium Studio, confirmed that he was dating a woman.
On Jan 30, the actor announced his marriage to Saunders in a letter on his official fan cafe. The couple are currently expecting a child together.
