Hong Kong singer Alan Tam bumped into his pal, Chow Yun Fat last week and took a selfie with the actor.
Tam then uploaded the photo on his Weibo account with the caption: “I met an old friend, who’s indifferent to fame, on the streets a few days ago... international superstar Chow Yun Fat. He’s in good spirits and in very good shape. He’s worth learning from."
Netizens immediately left comments on Tam's Weibo, praising the 72-year-old singer on how youthful he looks compared to Chow, who is five years his junior.
Both Tam and Chow lead healthy lifestyles and often go on hikes as their exercise routine. Sometimes, they would meet with one another during their morning jogs.
Actress Carina Lau credited Chow for introducing hiking to her in 2014.
She wrote on her Instagram in 2019: “Thank you Fat Gor for guiding me in hiking these five years. I still remember what you said to me at that time – 'People who climb mountains will be as happy as gods.
"It is also beneficial to our health, makes us look younger, and it’s really rewarding.'
"The best thing about hiking with Fat Gor is that after we’re done, he would take us to have some cheap, authentic Hong Kong food.”
In April 2020, Lau said that she and Chow went on a 22km trek together at the MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong.
"Today we set a new record, half-running and half-walking for 22km. Now that I’m home, I feel like my legs don't belong to me anymore,” Lau, 56, wrote after completing the hike.
While Chow is semi-retired from acting, singer Tam is still active. He released an album in May.
“What I want is very simple, and that is singing, playing football and meeting up with friends for tea. I love to go to cha chaan teng (Hong Kong style cafe) and street stalls. Don’t invite me for extravagant feasts,” Tam said.
