Johnny Depp is reportedly dating one of his former lawyers — but not the one everyone expected.

The former Pirates Of The Caribbean star, 59, is dating Joelle Rich, who represented the actor in his failed UK libel case against The Sun and was married when she and the actor met, a source told Us Weekly. Rich and her husband, whom she is now divorcing, are parents to two children.

“Their chemistry is off the charts,” the insider told the outlet. “It’s serious between them. They are the real deal.”

A source told Peope that while the pair is dating, their relationship is “not serious”.

Depp lost the 2020 case, which stemmed from claims regarding his former marriage to Amber Heard, which the court deemed “substantially true”.

Depp and Heard, 36, faced off in court this spring during an explosive defamation trial. Depp came out victorious, with Heard ordered to pay him US$10.35mil. He had to pay her US$2mil.

During the six-week trial in Virginia, there was speculation that Depp was dating his lawyer, Camille Vasquez, who impressed viewers with her sharp retorts and telegenic appearance. Vasquez called the dating rumors “an unethical charge” while speaking with People in June.

“I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job,” the 38-year-old attorney told the outlet. “It’s sexist .... It’s disappointing, but at the same time it kind of comes with the territory.”

Vasquez, who at the time said that she was “very happy” with her boyfriend, was also reported in June to be representing Depp in a lawsuit from Gregory Brooks.
