Anita Mui's 13-year-old nephew says father is lying about cancer scare: 'Don't use me to stir news'

Another day, another drama surrounding Anita Mui's brother, Mui Kai Ming.

This time, it involves Kai Ming's 13-year-old son Richard who slammed his father for telling the media that he has cancer.

Kai Ming reportedly informed media that Richard, who lives in Malaysia with his mother, has a tumour.

"We found a tumour near his neck and I don't know if it is cancer, so I really want to look for my mother and tell her that her grandson has some medical issues. I want to raise money to bring him back to Hong Kong for treatment,” Kai Ming, 71, said.

However, Richard rubbished the news about his health, entertainment portal 8days reported.

"Dad, please don't collude with others and use me to stir news.

"(My father) doesn't care about me at all. I contacted him previously, but he refused and didn’t answer the calls for two days, which made me very unhappy and troubled.

"Everything he has said is a lie," said Richard, adding that his father was the reason why he doesn't have a medical insurance card.

Richard's mother, Joey – who is Malaysian – said that the teen only suffers from neck pain. She added that the cancer rumours spread by Kai Ming is affecting their lives in Malaysia.

"I just hope that in future, my mother and I can depend on each other and live a good life," Richard said, adding that he doesn't want to deal with his father anymore.

Last month, Kai Ming sued his nephew and his 98-year-old mother's private nurse for HK$8mil (RM4.65mil) in compensation for forcing his mother to cut ties with him and stealing money, reported Hong Kong's The Standard.

In February this year, Kai Ming's mother published a notice in Hong Kong newspapers to announce that she has severed ties with her son.
