Popular 1980s Malaysian singer Aman Shah passes away at 68

Malaysian singer-actor Aman Shah passed away at the age of 68 on Wednesday (Sept 14).

The artiste died at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) at 2.15pm.

News of his death was confirmed by his eldest son, Hadzly, to mStar, The Star's Malay language portal.

It's reported that the singer, whose full name is Aman Shah Abu Kassim, was seeking treatment at IJN since Sept 7.

He will be laid to rest today at Alam Damai Muslim Cemetery, located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Aman Shah was popular especially in the 1980s.

One of his biggest hits is Kepulangan Yang Dinanti which can often be heard during Hari Raya. He also acted in films Darah Satria (1983) and Azura (2012).

In October 2021, Aman Shah had suffered a heart attack and received treatment at Hospital Melaka.
