The birthday party thrown for actor Will Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, over the weekend might have been filled with enjoyable moments but a fire that broke out at home was not the after party they were expecting.
Fire trucks and an ambulance were rushed to the Smith's estate in Calabasas, California on Sept 20 after receiving a call that the property had caught fire. A witness had informed Page Six that a fire had "broke out somewhere on one of the properties" and the medics had treated someone at the scene.
Will and Jada were reportedly at home at the time of the incident but were not harmed, confirmed a source. "They are all fine and in the home. A fire broke out in the basement and a fireman was treated, but everyone is fine," the source divulged to Page Six. The estate is priced at US$42mil (RM176mil). Initially, the couple had wanted to sell the property but have decided to keep it instead.
The Smiths had just celebrated Jada's 50th birthday where the house had been turned into a 1970s roller skating rink for the party. Guests included MC Lyte, Toni Braxton, Charlie Mack and NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns all.
