Singer-songwriter Aina Abdul has been chosen to be a guest on the South Korean programme Simply K-Pop Con-Tour.
The episode is airing today (June 14) from 6pm to 8pm (MYT) and can be seen on YouTube, Naver and Facebook Arirang TV.
This musical show, which features K-pop groups like Everglow and Girls In The Park, also highlights virtual guests from different countries who are K-Pop fans.
Besides live interviews with artistes like Aina, the show also invites K-Pop fans from the respective country to hook up to the show.
In previous episodes, the show has gone virtually to Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.
Its destination tonight is Malaysia, which is where the 27-year-old Malaysian singer-songwriter comes in.
Aina told a Malay portal that she had been preparing for the interview session for a few days now.
“I was given the questions which would be asked during the interview session ahead of time. This is to ensure the live programme goes without a hitch, and also to give me time to come up with insightful answers, ” Aina told Berita Harian.
She added: “My interview will take place between the performances in that two-hour show. But each slot happens only for a short period of time.
“Nonetheless I am grateful as it would give me a chance to promote myself and my song Sepi to a larger audience,” she told the outlet.
The Sumpah singer, who gained popularity through her participation in singing reality show Mentor Legend (2014), has been sharing her own take of popular numbers on her YouTube channel including Korean songs like Blackpink’s How You Like That.
She got even more fans after sharing a rendition of her song Sepi in Korean, in April this year. This video has received 699,367 views so far.
Her performance garnered a couple of reaction music videos as well. The Korean version of Sepi was later performed by two Korean musicians.
