Upcoming Korean musical film The Box has released a teaser video.

And it features the film’s main character – played by Chanyeol of the popular K-pop group EXO – giving his interpretation of Billie Ellish’s number Bad Guy.

Chanyeol’s appearance in The Box marks the rapper's first leading role in a Korean film.

He has previously starred in the Chinese film So I Married My Anti-Fan and in supporting capacity in the Korean flick Salut D’Amour.

In The Box, the 28-year-old EXO member plays an aspiring singer, who one day meets a washed-up music producer down on his luck.

Together, they hope to change their fate for the better.

Chanyeol does not only star in the film, but it’s reported he is writing new material and rearranging popular hits which his character will be performing.

The Box is directed by Yang Jung-woong, and co-stars Jo Dal-hwan (Rampant). It is scheduled to be out this year in South Korea.
