Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza was shaken by the sight of her secondary school, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Clifford in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, almost completely submerged in water.
"I can barely see the rooftop of the school block where I had my classes," the 41-year-old singer wrote on Instagram on Jan 5, accompanied by harrowing photos of her alma mater swallowed up by flood waters.
Siti, who is pregnant with her second child, pledged to help in whatever way she can.
"With my condition right now, I may not be able to go on-site and see for myself the flood situation. But I'm sending them my prayers and I will help the flood victims to the best of my abilities because I know how hard things are for them now."
She also included details on how the public can contribute to the school's repair and restoration works once the water subsides.
Despite having left SMK Clifford for a long time, Siti has maintained a close tie to her alma mater over the years, often returning to visit and perform at various school events.
Due to continuous downpour over the holidays, various districts across Pahang and Johor have been seriously hit by floods, resulting in thousands being evacuated from their homes.
