A total of 205 TVB artistes had to undergo Covid-19 swab test recently because one of its star, Edwin Siu came into close contact with an infected individual.
According to the broadcaster, Siu was filming a show at a restaurant on Nov 18 and it was later learnt that one of the staff at the premise had contracted Covid-19. Siu has been under self-quarantine since Nov 24 after learning the news.
On Nov 24, he took to Instagram to update his fans: "I got tested and the preliminary result was negative, so don’t worry. I hope everyone can get through this pandemic."
As Siu participated in the televised TVB Anniversary Gala on Nov 19, all 205 artistes who also took part have been sent for testing. Luckily, results were all negative according to TVB.
Hong Kong netizens were quick to criticise TVB and its artistes for not adhering to Covid-19 SOP during the TVB Anniversary Gala show as the stars didn't social distance during the broadcast. Only Moses Chan was spotted wearing a mask.
