All her life, actress Anne Winters has been told that she looks like singer Madonna. So, when the Queen Of Pop recently announced that she will be co-writing and directing a biopic about herself, Winters knew this was a role she was born to play.

So, instead of waiting for opportunity to knock on her door, Winters decides to kick the door down herself.

In a series of Instagram posts, the 26-year-old recreated some of Madonna's iconic looks in a bid to win the lead role in the upcoming biopic.

"BLOW UP @Madonna Instagram guys — I wana (sic) play her in her new biopic. I’ve been told I look like young Madonna forever, I act I sing I look like her.... cmon now."" the Emmy-winning actress wrote on her Instagram photo which is a nod to Madonna's Like A Prayer video.

The actress, who starred in 13 Reasons Why, also explained that since the pandemic struck, showbiz has been in a limbo. "Since covid - casting and film business has been whack af. So I’m trying a new tactic," she said referring to her method to get Madonna's attention.

While Madonna has not cast anyone for the lead role, this tactic might have worked somewhat for Winters. The Papa Don't Preach hitmaker has started following Winters on Instagram.

Winters said: "IM SO THANKFUL FOR ALL THIS SUPPORT. never thought I’d be reached out to by M herself through hype on social media. Anything is possible when you go for what you want, AND HAVE the (expletive) talent to back it up of course."

Last month, Madonna announced she will direct a biopic of herself. She is set to co-write the movie with Oscar-winning scriptwriter, Diablo Cody (Juno, 2007).

"I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artiste, a musician, a dancer – a human being," Madonna posted on her website.

"The focus of this film will always be music," she added. "Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive."
