Actor Nam Joo-hyuk – best known for his role in the K-dramas Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo and The Bride Of Habaek – has a new series out.
Titled The School Nurse Files, the six-episode Netflix series sees the 26-year-old portray Hong In-pyo, a school teacher who unknowingly has a positive aura around him.
As it turns out, this aura is a source of energy that can recharge the female protagonist, Ahn Eun-young (Jung Yu-mi), a school nurse with a unique ability to see and fight against harmful, invisible jelly-like beings
As her own energy depletes, she only needs to touch In-pyo’s hands for the extra surge.

He said: “I get energy from the people I love, as well as from healthy and delicious food.
“I also find doing nothing and relaxing (a good way) to recharge.”
As for the star’s favourite dish, it’s Kimchi Jjigae or Kimchi Stew. He elaborated: “I mean, everything is in there. Kimchi is fermented food, the tofu is protein, and you also have some meat.”
On the series – which is based on a 2015 novel – Nam said he became interested as the role offered him something fresh and new.
“When I read the script, I felt I wanted to take on the challenge of bringing this interesting character to life.
“He is someone who didn’t know much about himself before meeting Eun-young. Once he realises he can actually be a source of power to another person, he comes to find his own worth and he, in fact, transforms into another kind of person.
“In-pyo finds using his special ability and helping others really fulfilling. And I think him stepping up to help someone is when I feel most satisfied in playing the character, ” added Nam.
