The massive blast on Aug 4 in Beirut, Lebanon, took the lives of at least 135 people and injured thousands more.
Lebanese actress Nadine Nassib Njeim, 36, revealed she was among those wounded.
“Half my face and my body were covered in blood, ” Nadine shared to her 11 million Instagram followers on Aug 5 (translation provided by Arab News).
The post was accompanied by a 20-second video showing the destruction to her apartment, which was near the port area where the explosion took place.
“I thank God first, who saved my life. The explosion was close, and the scenes you see do not do it justice. If you visit the house and see the blood everywhere, you would be surprised as to how we are still alive.”
Nadine shared she had to rush down 22 floors, barefoot, before approaching a stranger in a car to send her to the hospital.
“He dropped me to the nearest hospital, but they refused to admit me because they were packed with wounded people.
"He dropped me to another hospital where they immediately took me in and I underwent a six-hour operation.”
She adds her two children were not at home during the blast and are safe.
Nadine's showbiz career began after she was crowned Miss Lebanon in 2004. She has since played various TV roles.
