Not everybody loves Ellen.

A day after Ellen DeGeneres issued a heartfelt apology to the staff of The Ellen DeGeneres Show over an alleged “toxic” work environment, fellow comedian and TV star Brad Garrett took to Twitter to let the world know that he’s not really buying it.

“Sorry but it comes from the top, ” the stand-up comedian and star of Everybody Loves Raymond tweeted early on July 31, tagging the Emmy Award-winning host.

“(I) know more than one who were treated horribly by her. Common knowledge, ” he added, sharing a story about DeGeneres’ public apology to her staff.

On Thursday (July 30), DeGeneres addressed accusations of alleged workplace misconduct in her long-running daytime talk show, which were first detailed in an explosive BuzzFeed News article earlier this month.

After speaking with one current and 10 former employees on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the publication reported on July 16 that DeGeneres’ famous “be kind” motto was “all for the show, ” as described by a person who no longer works for the show.

Some former staff members said they were terminated fired after taking medical leave or for taking time off to attend family funerals, while others said they had been instructed by their managers to not speak to DeGeneres whenever they saw her around the office.

One person claimed that she quit because she was tired of hearing insensitive comments about race in the set.

In a letter addressed to her staff, DeGeneres addressed the issues, adding that she was going to work hard to fix the situation.

Garrett, who didn’t provide any other details on the allegations, has appeared in DeGeneres’ long-running daytime talk show six times between 2004 and 2007. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
