Just before TV host-singer Datuk Aznil Nawawi went up on stage to perform his latest single Apo on music programme, Muzik Muzik on July 20, he decided make a last-minute wardrobe change.

The 57-year-old revealed in an Instagram post he had picked out a branded outfit to wear during the performance initially.

"I was planning to wear Emporio Armani clothes for my Muzik Muzik performance. But after our prime minister's address about the lax attitude in following SOPs during the MCO, I've decided to put on a PPE (personal protective equipment) instead to set and perform Apo."

In a series of photos posted on his Instagram, Aznil can be seen wearing a face shield and PPE on stage.

"I'd like to thank the show's producers for allowing me to do this," Aznil continued, adding he also distributed masks and face shields to the production crew involved.

On July 20, prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin warned Malaysians against being complacent during the current recovery movement control order (RMCO), especially after witnessing Covid-19 cases rise to double digits in the past few days.
