Giving birth to a child during a pandemic cannot be easy. According to actress Mia Ahmad, her second pregnancy has changed the way she views the world and the Covid-19 situation.
Mia, 32, and husband Mohd. Izham Tarmizi welcomed a baby girl into their family on June 19.
The Hati Perempuan actress shared her unique experience with mStar, saying that she had to take a Covid-19 swab test in the final weeks of her pregnancy.
“I was worried when I heard I would have to take the (Covid-19) test; luckily, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. The whole thing was over very quickly.
“Visitations are another struggle. Right now, we are hesitant to invite people over to see the baby, ” said Mia. The actress has not divulged the name of her daughter.
Mia is currently undergoing postpartum confinement in Johor Bahru. While she and Izham are delighted to have a new addition to the family, a new-born also comes with its fair share of challenges.
For one, Mia has had to readjust her sleep schedule to match her baby’s: “When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I have to get up too. Sometimes I don’t get enough sleep – but not to worry, I’m still taking care of myself.”
