Chinese actress-model Gulnazar was once so stressed out by cyberbullying that she started losing her hair.

With many celebrities coming out with their experiences of being cyberbullied, Gulnazhar (real name Gulnezer Bextiyar) also shared her own on the Chinese variety show Hi! Relax (Qin Ai De Qing Fang Song in Mandarin) The 28-year-old beauty of Uyghur ethnicity is well-loved for her roles in fantasy dramas such as The Classic Of Mountains And Seas (2016), Chinese Paladin 5 (2016) and Fighter Of The Destiny (2017).

During the Hi! Relax show, the actress recounted how she had lost her confidence due to nasty comments by cyberbullies.

“I had to think very carefully about every little thing I intended to say. I had to consider whether my message may be misunderstood. It was as if everyone hated me," the actress said, recalling how lost she felt at what she described as the darkest time of her career.

The message she deemed most cruel and hurtful was directed to her when her father passed away.

“A netizen commented that I had cursed my father to his death and that I would be seeing my mother in the morgue next, ” rued Gulnazar, who said she could accept being called ugly or criticised as a bad actress but this particular comment was too much to bear.

Her mother shared that stress from constant cyberbullying led to the actress' severe hair loss. “Her hair fell everywhere. Our floors would be covered in her hair," her mother said.
