TVXQ’s Changmin has just announced that he will be tying the knot with his girlfriend this September.
Changmin, whose real name is Choi Chang-min, first went public with his relationship in December 2019. According to reports from Korean news outlets, his girlfriend is not involved in the entertainment industry.
On Friday (June 12), Changmin informed his fans about the good news through a handwritten letter, which was shared on the fan community app Lysn.
The heartfelt letter details how far Changmin has come since he debuted as a singer 17 years ago.
“Within that time, a young and clumsy high schooler has grown into a man in his mid-30s. I have spent almost half of my life as part of TVXQ. During times when the future of the group was uncertain, you (our fans) stood by us, protected us, and gave us your love. Because of that, we have been able to grow so much. For that, I give you my utmost gratitude, ” wrote the singer.
Changmin then went on to detail how much trust and faith he shared with his partner, whom he “naturally wanted to continue his life with”.
TVXQ’s management agency, SM Entertainment, also released a statement regarding Changmin’s upcoming wedding.
According to the agency, the exact date for the ceremony has already been set for September 5. However, no other details will be revealed out of consideration for the idol, his bride, and their families. They requested that fans and reporters respect the privacy of those involved.
“Changmin will continue with his activities as a musician and member of TVXQ. Therefore, please send him your blessings as he enters a new chapter of his life, ” concluded the statement.
