K-pop girl group Red Velvet reveals details for Irene and Seulgi’s first mini album

Fans of the red hot Red Velvet have reason to celebrate.

The K-pop group will finally be getting its first sub-unit made up of the popular Irene-Seulgi partnership. The duo has been dubbed “Seulrene” by fans. The pair will release a mini album titled Monster on June 15. An official website for Irene and Seulgi has also been set up by SM Entertainment.

According to tweets from the official Red Velvet Twitter account, Monster will showcase “the perfect synergy of vocals, performance and visual”.

A logo was also revealed for the sub-unit. Made up of a slanted “I” and a mirrored “S”, the two letters are combined to form an ampersand in a creative mashup of Irene and Seulgi’s initials.

Fans on Twitter were also quick to point out that stylised forms of the letters “R” and “V” could be seen in the logo.
