Malaysian comedian Syed Umar Mokhtar Syed Mohd Redzuan or better known by his stage name, Abam Bocey, breathed his last this morning.
According to The Star's Malay-language portal mStar, the 32-year-old died of high fever around 8am.
"Yes, my brother passed away from high fever at his home," Ali Puteh, Abam's younger brother confirmed.
In a report by Astro Gempak, wife Siti Norhidayah Mohd Ali recalled Abam was down with fever two days ago.
"He complained he had fever and headache but when I asked him to go to the hospital, he didn't want to, thinking it was just a normal fever and headache."
"Then when I tried to wake him up this morning, there was no response from him."
Abam rose to prominence as part of the comedic group Bocey.
He leaves behind his wife and seven-month old son Syed Uthman Hamzah Al-Juffrey Syed Umar Mokhtar Al-Juffrey.
