This red pair of Speedos worn by Hasselhoff is a piece of "swimwear and cultural history," curators at a bikini museum in Germany say. Photo: dpa

“That belongs in a museum, ” Indiana Jones once famously told a bad guy holding a historic artefact. It seems historians in Germany think the same of David Hasselhoff’s tight-fitting swimwear.

Some red, Speedo-style swimwear, evoking the sort worn in the cult 1990s show Baywatch, is now headed to the BikiniArtMuseum in southern Germany, where curators secured several items at an online auction of Hoff paraphernalia.
