ADOPTION DRIVE May 22: Canine welfare project, Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB), will be putting up more than 20 puppies and dogs for adoption at Kota Alam Shah assemblyman M. Manoharan’s service centre. Items like dry and canned pet food, pet shampoo, bleach, towels, old newspapers and washing soap are also welcome.

LATIN AMERICAN FESTIVAL Tomorrow: It’s time to fiesta the Latin American way! Organised by the various Latin American embassies in Malaysia and the Latin Ladies Association of Malaysia, this annual event is a must-do if you want to sample culture and music. Tons of food, arts and crafts will be on sale from various Latin American countries. The Cuban stall will offer authentic Cuban cuisine, cocktails and plenty more. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Unicef in aid of the children of Haiti. Entrance is free. Time: 11am to 6pm.

COSPLAY, COMIC, ANIME AND GAMES EXHIBITION (C2AGE) Today & Tomorrow: Organised by HELP University College’s, C2AGE promises a host of exciting activities such as Cosplay competition, art competition, eat-all-you-can noodle contest, band performances, life size checkers, treasure hunt and more. JPM Motorsport, the organisers of Autobac SUPER GT 2011 Series Round 3, will also showcase a mock race car and GT Queens.

MUSIC IS FUN Tomorrow: Some music makes you sad, some happy. This music appreciation session is conducted by Dr Marc Rochester who looks at the funnier side of music with his inimitable mix of knowledge, humour and anecdote.

4TH CHARITY ROCK CLIMB May 28 & 29: The Greentrekkerz (GTZ) will be organising its charity climb at the end of the month to promote the sport to the masses whilst contributing to a charitable cause.

Proceeds will go to the Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Agathiar Sanmaarga Sanga (PKSASS) which provides food to about 150 poor families every month and offers financial assistance to poor students for their education.

The fee is RM50 per day for unlimited climbs and climbing equipment.

Time: 10am-5pm. Climbers also get a complimentary seven-day pass to any Fitness First gym. Coupons can be bought by calling the numbers above or at the event.

THIRD INFORMATION ON GREEN TECHNOLOGY (IGREET) FORUM May 26: The iGREET forum provides a platform for experts representing different industries to share their insights and experience of implementing incentives related to green technology.

The keynote speakers of the session will include Pierre Cheyron, (chief executive officer of Cofely South East Asia Pte Ltd), Alwin Long (energy solutions manager at Johnson Controls (M) Sdn Bhd) and Mohd Khairolden Ghani (research and development manager at Construction Research Institute of Malaysia).

The forum also features challenges that Malaysia is facing in the run to become an environmentally-sustainable economy in terms of green developments.
