Heart2Heart Charity Night

Sept 20 & Sept 21: Enjoy this evening of excerpts from famous Cantonese opera shows. Proceeds will go to SRJK(C) Kota Emerald Rawang Building Fund, Hospis and Tzu Chi Foundation in aid of the Szechuan Rebuilding Fund.

Non-Chinese speakers are also welcome, as English translation of lyrics will be provided.

Finn Peters Live

Sept 20: Awarded as the Best Band in the 2007 BBC Jazz Award, Finn Peters is one of the leading flute and saxophone players in the UK. From 10.30pm onwards, Finn will be playing alongside Lewis Pragasam’s band in his début performance in Malaysia. Admission is priced at RM25.

Sept 22: Directed by Indonesian director Paul Agusta, this film (entitled The Anniversary Gift in English) revolves around a young man, who finds himself in a horrific predicament when he wakes up chained to a metal chair by a beautiful woman.

The director, lead actress, art director, and line producer will be present for a Q&A session after the screening, which will be in Bahasa Indonesia with English subtitles.

Show begins at 8.30pm and admission is free.

Love & Beauty: The Sonnets of William Shakespeare

Till Sept 21: Sometimes whimsical and funny, other times poignant and sad, Love & Beauty presents the timeless sonnets of Shakespeare in a heady mix of musings, music and multimedia.

Directed by Chris Ling, with original music by Nick Choo and featuring the poetry of Alex Broun from Love & Other Dreams.

Tickets are priced at RM25 and RM10 for students. There are two shows daily at 3pm and 8.30pm.

Calling of Ramadhan

Sept 20: This exhibition is held in conjuction with Ramadhan, and features renowned Malaysian artists and their unique interpretation on the spirit of this holy month.

The collection utilises a myriad of materials, colours and textures in a contemporary context to depict and glorify the greatness of God.

Feast your eyes on modern Arabic calligraphy, abstract paintings, social commentary artworks, drawings and sculptures.

Admission is free, and the gallery will be open from 11am to 9pm.

Introduction Weekend

Oct 10-Oct 12: Adventure-seekers from 17 to 25 years old are welcome to join this exciting weekend, which will give you a glimpse into the expedition life!

Sept 21: The Old Pump House Road provides a mixture of interesting birds of the sub-montane forest. Expect to see Hornbills, Barbets, Wren-Babblers, Woodpeckers and a whole lot more.

The group will meet at 7am at the Indian restaurant next to Hotel Sri Malaysia at Gohtong Jaya. In support of green living, participants are encouraged to carpool.

Also, bring your own binoculars, drinking water, lightweight raincoat and wear earth-coloured clothing.
