STRESS-FREE dining and an entertaining experience is what many look forward to during the year-end festivities.
A restaurant-bar in Changkat Bukit Bintang is giving diners the option to sit back and enjoy their meal with a menu designed to please carnivorous taste buds.
Rockafellers Kitchen and Bar, which specialises in British and Irish cuisines, is presenting a dedicated Christmas takeaway menu.
It includes a selection of meats such as chicken, pork, turkey and lamb, along with typical accompaniments such as broccoli, carrots and baked potatoes.
Also available are festive-edition pies and burgers.
“Our star attraction is the Roasted Whole Turkey with Pork Stuffing, which is one of our bestsellers, ” said marketing and branding manager Satish G of The Olive Tree Group, which owns and operates Rockafellers and several other food establishments.
The roasted turkey also comes with an option of chicken stuffing, though restaurant executive chef Uvendran Reddy, known as Chef Yogi by everyone, recommends pork as its juiciness complements the turkey.
“All our meats are cooked to order to ensure freshness; nothing is roasted in advance. The turkey is roasted for about two hours, which results in crispy skin and juicy meat, ” he said.
“The turkey, along with some of the meat dishes, are infused with Jameson whiskey this year. The infusion gives the dishes a slightly sweet and earthy flavour.”
The oven-roasted turkey, which is served with sausages, Yorkshire pudding, Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce and roasted gravy, is available in two sizes.
The 3.5 to 4.9kg bird is priced at RM348 nett and feeds four to six persons. The 5kg to 6kg bird is priced at RM398 nett and is ideal for six to eight diners.
The Christmas Family Platter makes its debut this year, offering a selection of crowd favourites from Rockafellers’ festive a la carte menu.
“It’s a value-for-money dish and ideal for those hosting friends and family at home, ” said Satish, adding that one platter was good for up to eight diners.
Priced at RM348 nett, the platter comes with Roasted Crispy Pork Belly, BBQ Pork Ribs with Honey Glaze, Roasted Whole Stuffed Chicken and assorted sausages, accompanied by barbecue sauce and roasted gravy.
Yogi’s personal recommendations from the a la carte menu are the Roasted Crispy Pork Belly with spicy sambal sauce and apple sauce, BBQ Pork Ribs with Honey Glaze and Roasted Whole Lamb Leg with yogurt mint sauce and roasted gravy.
Other dishes to usher in the
season include Lamb Shepherd’s Pie and Beef Pie (3kg each), Roasted Whole Stuffed Chicken and Grilled Pork Belly with Hoisin Sauce.
For those who prefer individual meals or something lighter, other festive-edition dishes include Chicken Tikka Pie, Devil Pork Curry Pie, Lamb Rogan Josh Pie, Lamb Vindaloo Pie, Pork Roll Burger, Crab Meatballs Burger, Aubergine Spinach Burger and Angus Ratatouille Burger.
“Our pies feature a top crust and freshly cooked ingredients. From the puff pastry to filling, everything is made in-house to ensure freshness and authenticity, ” said Yogi.He added that the festive-edition pies were an extension of the restaurant’s permanent menu, offering traditional favourites such as Barbecue Pulled Pork Pie, Chicken, Leek and Mushroom Pie and Beef Sausage Meat Pie.
Prices start from RM43+ for a festive-edition pie or burger, and from RM68 nett for a dish from the a la carte menu.
Rockafellers’ Christmas menu is available for lunch and dinner from Dec 22 until Jan 1,2021, for takeaway and dine-in.
Pre-orders are accepted from now to Dec 22, with a minimum three-day advance notice required.
Free delivery is offered within a 15km radius. Self pick-up is also possible.
