The Police comes a-knocking ... again

Hell does freeze over sometimes, or so it would seem when it comes to The Police. Despite all the scary animosity and backstage bust-ups that went on during their life span, there is no denying the fact that the Holy Trinity of Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers have produced some of the more memorable rock anthems of our time.

With their reformation to play at this year's Grammy Awards, and with even a possible tour, and - dare we hope - a new album in the works, it would seem timely to remind ourselves why thousands, if not millions, still idolise this trio of dyed-blond musicians proffering an unusual but highly accessible brand of reggae-informed pop-rock.
