MALAYSIA wants Visit Malaysia 2026 to be a success. After receiving 42.2 million international visitors in 2025 – a figure that includes same-day visitors – the campaign aims to draw 47 million this year, generating jobs, spending and economic activity while delivering lasting benefits to local communities.
If those visitors come, the familiar numbers will tell us how well Malaysia succeeded in attracting them, but not what happened to the places that received them.
