Going local in the labour market


OVER the weekend, a suggestion by the Malaysian Employers Federation was made to allow refugees and asylum seekers to work in Malaysia.

There was a long list of reasons given why the government should allow refugees and foreign workers to work in the country, citing how 185,000 refugees and asylum seekers will offer new channels of supply to an already tight labour market.
