Getting clarity on gig workers

A COMMISSION on gig workers was supposed to be set up by July last year, but it dragged on and even took on the name Malaysian Gig Economy Commission, otherwise known as SEGiM in Malay.

The government hasn’t yet set up this body, which is to oversee the welfare of these workers, also known as freelancers or independent contractors, and regulate the gig economy.
