Public Bank sets up RM20bil sukuk programme

“The sukuk murabahah programme will have a tenure of 30 years from the date of its first issuance,” Public Bank said.

KUALA LUMPUR: Public Bank Bhd has established a RM20bil sukuk murabahah programme that will provide it the flexibility to issue senior sukuk and/or subordinated sukuk from time to time.

The bank said it, through Public Investment Bank Bhd (PIVB), lodged the required information and relevant documents with the Securities Commission (SC) today pursuant to the SC’s Guidelines on Unlisted Capital Market Products under the Lodge and Launch Framework.

“The sukuk murabahah programme will have a tenure of 30 years from the date of its first issuance,” Public Bank said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday. “RAM Rating Services Bhd has assigned preliminary long-term ratings of AAA and AA1 to the senior sukuk murabahah and subordinated sukuk murabahah, respectively.”

Meanwhile, PIVB has been appointed as the principal adviser, lead arranger and lead manager for the programme. — Bernama
