KUALA LUMPUR: Ni Hsin Group Bhd
, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd (NHEVT), has signed an agreement with China's Horwin International Inc to manufacture and exclusively distribute electric motorcycles in Malaysia and Turkey.
In a statement today, the diversified manufacturer said Horwin would supply chassis for two electric motorcycle models, the SK3 and SK3 Plus, on a completely knocked-down (CKD) basis under the agreement.
"NHEVT will assemble the motorcycles at its manufacturing and assembly facilities in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, incorporating 50 per cent locally sourced components.
"The finished electric motorcycles will be classified as ‘Malaysian-made’ and will qualify for export to Turkey under the Malaysia-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (MTFTA),” it said.
NHEVT managing director Khoo Chee Kong said the collaboration marked a significant milestone in the company's efforts to establish itself as a key player in the electric motorcycle industry.
He said the partnership would expand NHEVT's product portfolio while contributing to the global shift towards greener transportation.
The agreement was signed at the EIMCA Global EV trade show in Milan, Italy. - Bernama
