PETALING JAYA: Chip designer SkyeChip Bhd’s net profit jumped 27.2% quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) to RM17.7mil in the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2026, powered by strong demand for its silicon intellectual property (IP).
Revenue rose 9.1% to RM54.2mil from RM49.6mil in the preceding quarter, according to its Bursa Malaysia filing.
Silicon IP revenue climbed about RM8mil, offsetting a RM3.7mil fall in silicon products, which the company blamed on the timing of project milestones.
Silicon IP made up 63.2% of quarterly revenue. China contributed 38.6% of revenue and North America 36.6%, while Northeast Asia accounted for 24.7%, including maiden revenue from Japan.
Stripping out RM857,000 in one-off listing expenses, pre-tax profit would have been RM19.7mil, up 16.2% from the preceding quarter. Earnings per share (EPS) for the period came in at 0.99 sen.
For the six months, net profit was RM31.6mil or EPS of 1.92 sen on the back of RM103.8mil in revenue.
Listed on May 20, SkyChip's balance sheet reveals cash and bank balances of RM98.2mil with a further RM332mil parked in other investments.
Only 6.3%, or RM22.1mil, of the IPO proceeds had been used, mostly on listing costs, design tools and working capital. The bulk is earmarked for research and development over 36 months.
Operating cash flow was a modest RM7.7mil for the half, as receivables and contract assets swelled.
SkyeChip said its prospects remain healthy, citing long-term trends in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and automotive applications.
