KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has secured a US$75mil structured trade finance facility from Citi to support its supply chain operations and working capital requirements across Asia.
In a statement, Citi said the facility connects MAG's strategic suppliers in Malaysia, Singapore and China under a single financing framework to improve liquidity, streamline cross-border payments and strengthen supply chain resilience.
The facility is aimed at providing greater financial flexibility for MAG and its suppliers while addressing the complexities of operating across multiple jurisdictions.
The arrangement involved coordination across regulatory, legal and operational frameworks, including collaboration with a strategic supplier in China.
“With the structured trade facility in place, MAG looks forward to enhancing the cross-border payment solutions we have while further strengthening our relationship with our valued vendors across multiple markets,” MAG acting group chief finance officer Muhammad Najmi Mansor said.
Citi Malaysia country officer and banking head Vikram Singh said the facility was tailored to MAG's regional supply chain requirements.
“By leveraging our strong regional footprint and collaboration across Malaysia, Singapore, and China, our services business delivered an industry-leading bespoke trade solution for the aviation sector.
“This transaction demonstrates how innovative trade finance solutions can help businesses navigate increasingly complex cross-border operating environments while maintaining financial flexibility.”
