PETALING JAYA: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd
has appointed Tan Sri Wee Hoe Soon @ Gooi Hoe Soon as an independent non-executive director, effective Jan 1, 2027.
Wee will also become a member of the bank’s risk committee and audit committee.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the banking group said Wee, 66, is a registered and chartered accountant.
He currently chairs AIA Bhd and serves on the Employees Provident Fund’s investment panel, as well as the Securities Commission’s board.
He was previously chairman of Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd and EON Bank Bhd, and served as an independent director of Bank Negara Malaysia.
Wee is currently a non-independent director of JaGaSolution Bhd and sits on the board of Hydropipes Bhd as an independent director.
