KUALA LUMPUR: Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) has completed its RM5.2 billion syndicated Islamic term financing facility, it said in a statement here today.

The participating financial institutions are Maybank Investment Bank Bhd, AmInvestment Bank Bhd, CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd, RHB Islamic Bank Bhd and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd.

Maybank Investment Bank Bhd acted as mandated lead arranger, bookrunner and coordinating arranger, while the other four institutions served as joint mandated lead arrangers. AmInvestment Bank Bhd also acted as financial adviser to DNB, the statement said.

The financing, completed on Sept 29 2026, refinanced DNB's government-guaranteed revolving credit facility and established a sustainable long-term funding structure to support the company's future growth.

It also strengthens DNB's long-term financial position as it transitions into its next phase under Malaysia's dual network framework.

The ceremony was graced by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and attended by senior leaders from government, telecommunications, regulatory and financial sectors.

"The completion of the RM5.2 billion financing, together with the recent spectrum assignments and shareholder transition process, provides a strong platform for DNB's next phase of growth under the dual network framework,” DNB chief executive officer Datuk Azman Ismail said.

The financing follows a series of significant developments. This includes the nationwide 5G infrastructure rollout, MOF Inc’s impending exit as ordinary shareholder, the transition towards equal ownership among its mobile network operator shareholders (CelcomDigi Bhd through Infranation Sdn Bhd, Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd and YTL Power International Bhd), and the recent spectrum assignment award of DNB's full spectrum holdings, it said.

These milestones collectively complete the key financial, commercial, operational and regulatory foundations DNB needs to move to its next phase of development.

The financing milestone coincides with the recent award of the full 100 MHz of the 3.3-

3.4 GHz spectrum and the conversion of its entire 240 MHz spectrum holding to a spectrum assignment, effective Oct 1, 2026.

As Malaysia advances into the next phase of the dual network framework, DNB remains committed to providing high-quality, secure and reliable digital infrastructure that supports the needs of its shareholders, customers, enterprises and government agencies, while contributing towards Malaysia's broader digital transformation and AI ambitions, it said. - Bernama
