HI Mobility lands govt contract

HI Mobility executive director and chief executive officer Lim Chern Chuen.

KUALA LUMPUR: HI Mobility Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, has received a letter of intent (LOI) from the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) for its proposed appointment as network operator under the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) programme in Johor Baru.

In a statement, the group said the proposed appointment would cover the period from Jan 1, 2027 to March 31, 2031.

It said the non-binding LOI would allow Handal Indah to engage with Apad, an agency under the Transport Ministry, on its continued participation in the programme.

The service scope, contractual terms, contract value and other relevant matters have yet to be finalised and would be subject to further discussions before the issuance of any letter of acceptance.

HI Mobility executive director and chief executive officer Lim Chern Chuen said the group would continue working with the government and relevant stakeholders on Johor Baru’s public transport requirements.
