KUALA LUMPUR: Digital wealth platform Cashku has entered into a distribution partnership with Kenanga Investors Bhd to offer selected investment funds through its platform.
Cashku, which is operated by Securities Commission Malaysia-licensed Advisonomics Sdn Bhd, said the funds will include those offered by Kenanga Investors and its Institutional Unit Trust Adviser partners.
The funds will be available with no sales charge and a minimum investment of RM10.
Users will be able to review fund information, open an account, set investment goals and make investments through the Cashku application.
The platform also uses artificial intelligence for risk profiling, goal-based portfolio construction, suitability assessments and portfolio monitoring, with oversight from licensed advisers.
Cashku chief executive officer Raevendren Ramachandran said the partnership would help broaden access to financial planning and investment products.
“Financial planning has traditionally been reserved for those wealthy enough to pay for it, which is why most households have never had a plan at all.
“Cashku exists to change that: to give every Malaysian a plan built around their own goals. Partnering with managers like Kenanga Investors is how that gap closes,” he said in a statement.
Kenanga Investors chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Wira Ismitz Matthew De Alwis said the partnership would enable the firm to reach investors who invest smaller amounts through digital channels.
“Working with a licensed platform such as Cashku allows us to reach investors who are starting earlier and investing in smaller amounts than traditional channels are built to serve, without compromising the standards of suitability, transparency and governance our clients expect.”
Cashku said it plans to add more funds to its platform.
