Carimin Petroleum acquires 5.8% stake in Sealink for RM9.89mil

PETALING JAYA: Carimin Petroleum Bhd has acquired 29.09 million ordinary shares in Sealink Bhd, representing a 5.8% equity interest, via direct business transactions between Sept 18 and Sept 22, 2026, for RM9.89mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Carimin said Sealink is principally involved in chartering of marine vessels and letting of properties, shipbuilding, vessel owner and operator as well as property holding.

“The acquisition is undertaken by Carimin as part of its ongoing investment strategy to identify opportunities that enhance the operational capabilities, financial performance and overall financial position of the company and its subsidiaries.”

Following the acquisition, Carimin’s shareholding in Sealink will increase from 19.5% to 25.3%, resulting in Sealink being an associate company of Carimin.

“This will enable the group to participate in Sealink’s future earnings through equity accounting while maintaining strategic exposure to Sealink’s business.

“In addition, the acquisition will allow Carimin to participate in the prospects and growth of Sealink and may provide future opportunities for collaboration between the two groups as their respective core competencies in maintenance services and vessel operations may unlock potential operational and commercial synergies and enhance the long-term value of the group.”
