MIHAS knowledge hub expands into year-round platform - MATRADE

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has expanded the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) Knowledge Hub into a year-round trade intelligence platform to accelerate the global competitiveness of Malaysian exporters.

Introduced in 2021, MIHAS Knowledge Hub is a knowledge and thought leadership platform under MATRADE's MIHAS programme, an annual four-day halal trade exhibition.

"Moving beyond that framework, the (new) initiative introduces artificial intelligence (AI)-driven content curation, year-long digital programming, and modern multimedia formats to deliver real-time, actionable market insights directly to local businesses," MATRADE said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 8).

Chief executive officer Datuk Abu Bakar Yusof said export success depends not only on quality products, but also on understanding international markets and buyer expectations, meeting regulatory requirements, and keeping up with emerging trends.

He said MIHAS Knowledge Hub bridges this gap by connecting businesses with experts, buyers, and policymakers while making practical market insights more accessible through podcasts and technical sessions.

MATRADE noted that the Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YAPEIM) has joined this year’s strategic initiative, which features four distinct knowledge-sharing pillars designed for every stage of the exporter journey, namely Prelude & "Meet the Experts” webinars, Pocket Talk, #SembangBlog / #SembangSantai podcasts, as well as Power Talk, which will take place on Sept 23 during MIHAS 2026.

MIHAS 2026 will be held from Sept 23 to 26 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Malaysian exporters, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as industry stakeholders are invited to register early to access exclusive trade insights, expert networks and global business opportunities via the official MIHAS website. - Bernama
