KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd posted a net profit of RM139.12mil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2QFY26), as compared to RM126.69mil in the year-ago quarter, underpinned by improved revenue of RM1.36bil against RM1.28bil in the previous quarter.

The bank said the improved first-half performance  was supported by higher net fund-based income and stronger fee and commission income, partially offset by lower gains from the sale of securities.

Current accounts, savings accounts, and transactional investment accounts (Casatia) grew 9.4% y-o-y to RM31.8bil, representing a Casatia ratio of 36.6%.

Movng forward, the bank said it will focus on the tenets of simplification, automation and digitalisation as it embarks on a strategic renewal to achieve sustainable growth.

"We are reviewing our processes, operating model and cost structure to eliminate complexity, improve execution effectiveness and deliver faster, more seamless and intuitive customer experiences.

"At the same time, we will invest purposefully in talent development and technology, accelerate digital

adoption and build a core banking architecture and infrastructure that strengthens the group’s agility

and resilience," said group CEO Raja Teh Maimunah in a statement.
