SunCon secures RM1.04bil MEP fit-out works from US tech firm

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has secured RM1.04bil worth of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out works from a US-headquartered multinational technology company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, SunCon said its wholly owned subsidiary Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd had accepted work orders for two projects.

The works are scheduled to commence immediately, with final completion expected by March 2028.

SunCon said the contracts are expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026, onwards, barring unforeseen circumstances.

The contracts are not expected to have any immediate material effect on the group’s earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing for FY26.

“As at the date of this announcement, SunCon Group has secured RM6.85bil worth of new orders during the current financial year, including the abovementioned works,” SunCon said.
